Chess2All and Chess Kings & Queens in cooperation with Chessstream and lichess.org have conducted over 40 online events using a system that keeps the pairings and format of tournaments familiar. Individual prizes will be awarded, more details below:
Requirements:
REGISTRATION : Early registration has a deadline of April 24th. After that, it will be $10 more until 9 am on May 1st

BYES:
You may request up to three half-point byes before the tournament. Any changes once the tournament begins will count as 0 point bye.
SIDE EVENTS (open to anyone from NC): - Offical NC Blitz Championship [April 30th] - Offical NC Rapid Championship [May 2nd]
These events will be endorsed by the North Carolina Chess Association and the title will be given to the respective winner. Players are strongly encouraged to play, more information can be found here

U300, U700, U1200 Sections
TIME CONTROL: G30 + 5 (30 minutes with a 5-second increment every move) ENTRY FEE: $20 before 4/24/2021, and $30 after until tournament date.
ROUND TIMES (EST): May 1st: 10am, 11:30am, 1:30pm Please note that rounds 4 and 5 will happen ASAP (immediately after the previous round)
**These sections are a one-day event, but on Sunday players may play again in a rapid tournament that will be open for all ages and genders.** PRIZES: Top 5 in each section will receive a trophy
**All prizes will be mailed to your home**
Championship Section (1200+)
TIME CONTROL: G60 + 10 (60 minutes with 10-second increment every move) ENTRY FEE: $30 before 4/24/2021, and $40 after until tournament date. ROUND TIMES (EST): May 1st: 10am, 1:30pm, 4pm
May 2nd: 10am, 1:30pm
PRIZES: Top 5 in the Championship Section will receive a trophy. The winner will be sent to represent NC in the Offical Girls National Championship. The winner will also receive a $300 stipend.
Pairing System:
Standard US Chess pairing system will be used. Accelerated Pairings May Be Used If Needed
Pairings will be uploaded to the parings tab and players can join their game at the right time with just one click!
Tournament Rules:
Players must attend school in North Carolina and have NC as their USCF state to be eligible to compete.
Ratings will be used for the higher of a player’s US-Chess regular and US Chess online regular ratings
In some cases, the TD may assign a different rating for any player.
USCF standard tiebreaks are used for all prizes, including national qualifiers.
Players should be on time for every round. Clocks will be started shortly after the scheduled round time.
This tournament is played on lichess.org (all accounts are free).
Lichess built-in rules are used, and players should familiarize themselves with the lichess platform and setting.
Zoom Requirements:
For every round, players on the top 10 boards of the Championship section are required to join Zoom, preferably with a side or rear angle showing the computer screen and playing area (see image below).
Players in the U300, U700, U1200 sections are not required to Zoom unless requested to by tournament staff.
Zoom information will be sent out a day prior to the tournament via email.
ONLINE FAIR PLAY RULES
This event treats fair play very seriously. Parents and players should read these conditions carefully to ensure a fair and enjoyable tournament for all.

By registering and playing, players agree not to use outside assistance of any kind.
This is a US Chess online-rated tournament and state championship event. Players found to be using outside assistance will be reported to US Chess and restricted from future online events.
Parents are asked to “check-in” on their children during the tournament to ensure fair play.
Players are only permitted to use their playing computer during the game. Playing from a tablet or phone is not recommended.
Players may not use a physical board or anything else during their games.
Players found or believed to be using outside assistance will be ineligible for any prize and will be removed from the tournament.
All games will be reviewed by lichess and tournament staff during and after the event.
Tournament staff may expel a player from the tournament, make a player ineligible for a prize, or adjust the standings, prizes, or USCF rating report, even if lichess does not close the account.
Players may not listen to music, wear headphones, or have another electronic device near them while playing.
We will remove cheaters from the tournament during and/or after the tournament and adjust tournament results and standings accordingly.
All fair play adjustments made by tournament staff or lichess are final and are not appealable.
